A4988 Stepper Motor Driver Module with Heatsink

Description

The A4988 Stepper Motor Driver Module is a breakout board based on Allegro’s A4988 bipolar stepper motor driver. It provides adjustable current control, multiple microstepping modes, and protection against over-current and overheating.

The driver uses intelligent chopping control to automatically select the appropriate current decay mode. Mixed decay operation helps reduce motor noise, improve step accuracy, and lower power consumption.

The module also includes internal protection features such as thermal shutdown, under-voltage lockout (UVLO), crossover-current protection, and short-circuit protection. The board is compatible with both 3.3V and 5V logic systems and comes with pre-soldered header pins and an adhesive heatsink.
