Description
The NY-D01 Spot Welder Control Board is designed to control the welding output of AC transformer-based spot welding machines. It uses an STM8 microcontroller and thyristor/SCR phase-angle control to regulate the AC power supplied to the welding transformer.
The board provides adjustable welding time from 1–50 AC cycles and a current adjustment range of 30–99, with a digital display for easy monitoring of the settings. A foot pedal or other passive normally-open trigger can be used to start the welding process, while optocoupler isolation helps separate the control section from the high-current switching section.
This controller is commonly used in DIY transformer spot-welding machines, including projects for nickel-strip and battery-pack welding when paired with a properly designed transformer and welding circuit.
