Description
The BIGTREETECH Octopus V1.1 Control Board is designed for advanced 3D printer builds, upgrades, and DIY projects, including machines such as Voron-style printers. Its 32-bit architecture provides the processing capability needed for complex multi-motor and multi-function printer configurations.
At its core, the board uses an STM32F446ZET6 ARM Cortex-M4 processor running at 180MHz. It supports multiple stepper motor drivers, with up to 8 driver positions and 9 motor outputs, giving users flexibility when configuring independent motors and dual-axis systems.
The board also provides multiple fan outputs with selectable voltage rails, allowing users to configure cooling systems according to their printer’s requirements. Additional interfaces support features such as BLTouch, CAN bus, power-loss recovery, filament or print monitoring functions, IIC expansion, and optional PT100 temperature sensing.
For quiet and precise motion control, the board can be paired with compatible TMC2209 stepper drivers. These drivers support STEP/DIR and UART modes, while onboard jumpers allow configuration for UART or SPI operation and enable/disable TMC DIAG functionality for either traditional endstops or sensorless homing.
The Octopus V1.1 supports popular 3D printer firmware including Klipper, Marlin, and RepRapFirmware (RRF). It can also be used with Raspberry Pi and OctoPrint setups for network-based printer control.
