Description
The DALY BMS Li-ion 6S 24V 60A Battery Management System is a dedicated battery protection and balancing board designed for 6S lithium-ion battery packs with a nominal voltage of 24V.
This BMS monitors the battery pack during charging and discharging and provides multiple protection functions to help protect the cells from common electrical and temperature-related conditions. It supports 60A continuous discharge current and can handle a peak current of 180A ±30A according to the supplied specifications.
The BMS is suitable for DIY battery packs and applications such as electric bikes, electric skateboards, solar systems, RVs, power tools, household energy storage and other compatible Li-ion projects.
6S Fixed Li-ion Configuration
This is a 6S fixed-configuration BMS, meaning it is designed specifically for battery packs containing 6 Li-ion cells or cell groups connected in series.
It is a Li-ion-only BMS and should not be used with:
- LiFePO4 batteries
- Li-Metal batteries
- LTO batteries
- Other battery chemistries requiring different protection parameters
Always verify your battery chemistry and cell configuration before installation.
Overcharge and Over-discharge Protection
The BMS monitors individual cell voltage and provides protection against excessive charging and discharging.
The supplied specifications include:
- Overcharge detection voltage: 4.25 ± 0.05V per cell
- Overcharge release voltage: 4.15 ± 0.05V
- Over-discharge detection voltage: 2.7 ± 0.1V
- Over-discharge release voltage: 3.0 ± 1.0V
- Overcharge protection delay: 1 second
- Over-discharge protection delay: 1 second
These protection functions are designed to help prevent cells from operating outside their specified voltage limits.
Built-in Cell Balancing
The DALY 6S 24V 60A BMS features a cell balancing function to help maintain more consistent voltage between individual cells in the battery pack.
Balancing specifications:
- Balance detection voltage: 4.18V
- Balance release voltage: 4.18V
- Balance current: 30 ± 5mA
The BMS is supplied with a 7-wire balance/sense cable and connector for connecting the individual series cell groups.
Over-current and Short-circuit Protection
With a 60A continuous discharge rating, this BMS is designed for Li-ion battery applications requiring a higher current capacity.
The specified peak current is 180A ±30A.
The BMS also provides:
- Over-current detection delay: 1ms
- Short-circuit detection delay: 250μs
- Short-circuit protection for an external load condition
These functions help disconnect the battery pack when an excessive current or short-circuit condition is detected.
Temperature Protection
Temperature protection is included for both charging and discharging.
According to the supplied specifications:
- Charging protection: below -5°C or above 50°C
- Discharge protection: above 70°C
- Working temperature: -20°C to 70°C
- Sleeping temperature: -40°C to 80°C
