Description
The Makerbase MKS SKIPR V1.0 is a versatile all-in-one motherboard designed to run Klipper firmware and control a wide range of 3D printers. It combines a powerful Rockchip RK3328 quad-core processor with an STM32F407VET6 microcontroller, allowing the board to handle both the Klipper host system and real-time printer control.
The RK3328 processor uses a quad-core Cortex-A53 architecture and runs an Armbian-based system, providing the processing power needed for the Klipper host. The STM32F407VET6 MCU uses a Cortex-M4 architecture running at 168MHz to manage stepper motors, heaters, sensors, and other printer functions.
The board includes 1GB DDR3 memory and offers a range of connectivity options, including HDMI, PI-TS35 display support, Ethernet, and three USB ports. These USB ports can be used for peripherals such as wireless adapters, cameras, USB drives, keyboards, or mice.
For system storage, the MKS SKIPR supports both TF cards and eMMC modules. An eMMC module can provide faster and more stable storage compared with a TF card, making it a practical option for a permanent Klipper setup.
With support for up to 7-axis stepper control, three controllable fan outputs, three configurable output channels, and flexible voltage selection, the board can accommodate a variety of 3D printer configurations.
The MKS SKIPR also includes several protection features, such as Schottky diode protection, back-EMF protection, and independent voltage selection for the Z+ probe interface, helping improve the board’s stability and compatibility with different printer components.
