Description
The MAX7219 Dot LED Matrix 4×1 Module is a compact and easy-to-use LED display solution for Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and other microcontroller-based projects. It combines four 8×8 LED dot matrix displays into a single module, providing a total of 32×8 LED pixels for displaying text, numbers, symbols, animations, and custom graphics.
Powered by the MAX7219 LED driver IC, this module requires only three communication wires from your microcontroller, making it simple to connect and control. The built-in driver also provides brightness adjustment, efficient LED scanning, and reliable flicker-free operation.
The module features input and output interfaces, allowing multiple MAX7219 displays to be connected together in a cascade. This makes it an excellent choice for projects that require longer scrolling text, larger displays, digital clocks, counters, information boards, temperature displays, and DIY electronics projects.

Easy to Use with Arduino
The MAX7219 makes controlling the LED matrix much easier by handling LED multiplexing and display scanning internally. Popular Arduino libraries such as LedControl and MD_MAX72xx can be used to control the module through the Arduino IDE.
With only a few connections required, you can quickly create scrolling messages, digital counters, animations, clocks, and custom LED graphics.
Cascadable Design
One of the main advantages of this module is its cascading capability. Multiple MAX7219 modules can be connected together to create a larger LED display while using the same communication interface. This is particularly useful for long scrolling text and larger information-display projects.
