How It Works
A 3S lithium-ion battery pack consists of three compatible Li-ion cells or cell groups connected in series. A fully charged 3S Li-ion pack reaches approximately 12.6V, while its nominal voltage is around 11.1V.
The module uses a USB Type-C power input and provides charging for a compatible 3S battery configuration. The available charging current depends on the input power source, battery pack, wiring, and operating conditions.
Pin Connections
Depending on the specific board version, the main connection points may include:
- VIN+ / VIN-: Input power connection when using a wired power source instead of the Type-C connector.
- BAT+: Positive connection of the compatible 3S battery pack.
- BAT- / GND: Negative connection of the battery pack.
Always check the markings printed on your actual PCB before connecting power or batteries, as pin labels and board layouts can vary between module versions.
Important Safety Note
This type of charger/booster module should not automatically be assumed to provide cell balancing. For a 3S battery pack, use an appropriate 3S BMS with balancing functionality when required by your battery configuration and application.
Use compatible Li-ion cells, correct wiring, and an appropriate power supply. Do not connect cells with different capacities, conditions, or charge levels unless the battery system is specifically designed to handle them.
