Description
The DALY BMS Li-ion 16S 60V 40A is a battery management and protection board designed for 16-series Li-ion battery packs. It monitors individual battery groups and provides multiple protection functions to help protect the battery pack during charging and discharging.
With a 40A continuous discharge current and 120A ±20A peak current, this BMS is suitable for higher-current 60V Li-ion battery applications.
The board uses high-quality MOSFETs and a protective integrated circuit to provide battery monitoring, protection, and balancing functions.
Fixed 16S Li-ion Configuration
This is a 16S fixed-configuration BMS designed specifically for lithium-ion battery packs.
It cannot be used with other battery pack configurations and is strictly intended for Li-ion batteries.
It should not be used with:
- LiFePO4 batteries
- Li-Metal batteries
- LTO batteries
Always confirm the battery chemistry and series configuration before installation.
60V Li-ion Battery Protection
The DALY 16S 60V 40A BMS provides several protection functions for the connected Li-ion battery pack, including:

The BMS monitors the voltage of individual battery groups to help prevent abnormal charging and discharging conditions.
Over-Charge & Over-Discharge Protection
The BMS monitors each cell group and provides protection according to the supplied voltage parameters.
The specified over-charge detection voltage is 4.25 ±0.05V per cell, while the over-charge release voltage is 4.15 ±0.05V.
For over-discharge protection, the detection voltage is 2.7 ±0.1V, with a specified release voltage of 3.0 ±1.0V.
These protection functions are designed to help prevent excessive charging and discharge of the connected Li-ion cells.
Temperature Protection
The 16S BMS includes a mechanical temperature sensor for temperature monitoring and protection.
The supplied temperature protection parameters are:
- Charging protection: Below -5°C or above 50°C
- Discharge protection: Below 70°C
- Working temperature: -20°C to 70°C
- Sleeping temperature: -40°C to 80°C
Temperature protection during charging and discharging helps provide additional protection for the battery pack.
Over-Current & Short-Circuit Protection
The DALY 16S 60V 40A BMS is designed to provide protection against excessive current and short-circuit conditions.
The specified electrical protection parameters include:
- Continuous discharge current: 40A
- Peak current: 120A ±20A
- Over-current detection delay: 1ms
- Short-circuit detection delay: 250µs
- Short-circuit protection condition: Short circuit external load
When a short-circuit condition is detected, the BMS can shut down the battery output according to its protection parameters.
Cell Balancing
The BMS includes a cell balancing function for the 16 series-connected Li-ion battery groups.
The supplied balancing specifications are:
- Balance detection voltage: 4.18V
- Balance release voltage: 4.18V
- Balance current: 30 ±5mA
Cell balancing helps maintain more consistent voltage levels across the series-connected battery groups.
