Description
The BT136 600E TRIAC is a bidirectional semiconductor switching device used to control alternating current (AC) power. Unlike a conventional transistor, a TRIAC can conduct current in both directions when triggered, making it useful for regulating AC loads and switching power in electronic circuits.
The BT136 is commonly used in AC light dimmers, motor speed control circuits, lighting controllers, and other power regulation applications. Its TO-220 package allows convenient PCB mounting and supports heatsink installation when required by the operating conditions.
With its gate-triggered operation, the BT136 can be incorporated into suitable control circuits for switching AC loads. It can also be used with microcontroller-based projects when an appropriate gate-driving circuit and electrical isolation are provided.
